LEADing across
disciplines

To enrich my learning experience and form connections beyond my discipline, I formed student groups at both Stanford and the University of Michigan. Across both universities, I led 30+ people to collaborate and learn outside of the classroom.

Think Slate

“Engineering. Business. Art & Design. Think Slate brings together talented students of all disciplines to engage in active problem solving and innovation. We work beyond the classroom to solve the problems we face every day.”
Think Slate
Our Story

Founded by two friends with a vision to gain more hands-on experience while in school, Think Slate is a multi-disciplinary student group dedicated to developing innovative solutions to real-world problems.  Each semester, teams are challenged to foster their idea into a working prototype, complete with a business plan and pitch packet.  Think Slate encourages an entrepreneurial mindset and a product-driven attitude. It’s an opportunity for students across all majors to collaborate and gain experience coordinating with a diverse group of talented innovators. We aim to provide an environment for students to exercise the freedom to create beyond the boundaries of a classroom and connect with a strong network of like-minded peers.

I was the founder and president of Think Slate.

studio f.

I started an 8-week program, studio f., to share skills and learn outside of the classroom.

studio f. - Redesign an Everyday Object

In its first iteration, studio f. created a structure for 6 students to practice and learn skills by redesigning an everyday object. During our weekly studio sessions, we each practiced a different design method. I taught sessions on sketching, digital drawing, foam prototyping, and CAD rendering.

studio f. - Making Graphic Art Real

In its second iteration, studio f. created a structure for 12 students to practice and learn skills by stretching their creative skills to design posters for risograph printing. I led sessions for creative work time and facilitated critiques from Patrick Fenton - an expert on visual design and instructor at Stanford.
